Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

Contribution to the journal should be original articles relevant to the field of Library and Information Science.

The primary language is English, but articles written in Sinhala and Tamil languages may be included with abstract written in English.

Two copies of the manuscripts should be submitted, typed with (preferably Word 2000; Font - Times New Roman 12) double spacing on one side of the paper (A4). It should be between 3000-7000 words and a diskette copy is also required. Pages should be consecutively numbered.

The title of the article must be informative. An abstract (written in English) of 100-150 words should be provided including the scope, research method, findings and conclusions. All acronyms and abbreviations should be spelled out in full, the first time they are used.

lllustrative materials (graphs, charts, tables) could be included where appropriate.

Contributions should be accompanied by the author's name, designation, affiliation, professional qualifications and full address with telephone number, fax, e-mail.

Authors will receive a complementary copy of the journal.

Bibliographic references

References should follow the Harvard system.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
